Day 1 - On Our Way To NYC

The adventure is here. Tonight, we are on our way to NYC. We are doing a red eye. Leave Phoenix at 1030 arrive in New York at 6am. Hopefully, we get some sleep.
P.S. We are on the plane with Cali Torres from Seattle Grace (from Grey's Anatomy). When the flight attendant announced a medical emergency and requested assistance from any doctors or nurses on the plane, Dr Torres didn't even get out of her seat. Malia's heroic efforts (inform the flight attendant he was drunk) earned her a $50 voucher toward her next flight.
Day 2 - 12 Hours In New York City

So we arrived at 6-ish at JFK airport, exhausted from sleeping maybe 15 minutes the whole flight. Saving lives is hard work, and crying babies don't make it much easier. We brushed our teeth, Kelly did a costume change and we were on our way Venti coffee in hand (thanks Justin and Christina for the gift card!)
We conquered the air train and the subway like champs. We are practically locals, no big deal. But that train ride zapped any bit of energy we had conjured up from excitement. We finally made it to Manhattan by about 9:30. we walked to Time Square which is quite the stimuli overload especially being as tired as we were, but still took it all in.
Then, we zombied our way to Central Park where we found a park bench and then a rock to take a little nap. Oh geez, that was the best thing we could ever have done.
It gave both of us enough energy to do some more sightseeing. Long story short this is what we saw before we could barley shuffle ourselves back on the subway:
-Time Square
-Broadway
-Cute little restaurant to eat breakfast
-Carnegie Hall
- Central Park
- Rockefeller Center
- Brooklyn Bridge
- Empire State Building
- Fifth avenue shops
- and fantastic New York characters
Love that you were on the plane with Cali. AND, that you used your RN license so well, "Um...he's drunk..." ;) Awesome! Let the adventures begin! I hope you two have an incredible time. I'll be living vicariously through you.
