Day 15 - Sweet, Sweet Paris
ParisSunday, June 19, 2011
The infamous train from Florence to Paris was as eventful as we thought. Just as promised we heard screams at every stop, a thief in the night, and interesting fellow couchette riders to chat with on our journey. When we landed we struck a deal with 2 Frenchmen. If we helped them with their "recycled" bike, they would point us in the right direction to our hotel.
The "recycled" bike is in the box, so Kelly had to wheel his trolley (aka suitcase). The reason we call it recycled is cause he wouldn't let us call it stolen. Apparently, we are the gypsies in Paris.
It was an eventful start to our Paris holiday. We started Paris like we do in every city with a nice, long nap. Followed by a delicious 3 course dinner and a glass of Bordeaux. Then, we walked a long the Seine river in search of our Botabus, our mode of transport for the next two days.
Yes, that is the Eiffel tower way in the distance.
Lastly, we wandered around the courtyard of the Musee du Louvre.
